“We need artists to help us come together and share our voices and build up our community
around powerful issues concerning our planet’s survival. Compassion must be translated into action.”
-- Natasha Mayers

hundreds of hours are spent each year sharing unique talents
facilitating and advancing accessibility to our community's events and education.

Donations received go towards supporting the many programs we offer, plus the annual Festival for Peace and the rest saved for the planned Vital Art Centers. There is no personal gain from any donations.

In a world full of oppression, fear, hopelessness and disconnect Vital Art shares a new way of living through increased personal expression, passion, celebration, progress and sustainability.

Art and culture play a critical role in life, both on the individual and social level.
Here are a few key aspects of Vital Art Centers that will improve quality of life in our area.

Culture
In Shasta County there is a lack of cultural experience for the general public.
Due to financial struggles families don't always have the opportunity to travel and experience multi-cultural events, through Vital Art Centers people will have the ability to experience different themes and exhibits paired with fresh food and dancing.
Upon opening our art centers we will be consistently offering unique entertainment intriguing locals and tourists alike.

Wellness
We believe ART is essential to individual wellness and a thriving city.
Through the Vital Art Centers people will have access to consistent live wholesome entertainment in a conscious and welcoming environment inspired to promote wellness with nutritious food & drink options and a deep rooted sense of community, with organic socialization & dancing.

Recreation
We create a home for all forms of art, for all ages to enjoy. Our programs offer a new outlet for artistic endeavors and recreation, consistently offering unique entertainment to locals and tourists alike we will have both indoor and outdoor entertainment & social celebrations.

What makes the Vital Art Center unique?

Imagine this: Friday night, it's been a long week, maybe you've just had a long day at work. It feels like a date night and you want to take your special someone out on the town. What do you do? The movie theater is an option. You're thinking, hey, it may be redundant but the most important thing is we're spending time together, and we both love movies anyway. Oh and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from! If you want to mix it up, do something unique, you check out what's going on at the Cascade Theatre or see if there are any special community events going on tonight.

Or, you go to that new establishment: Vital Art. They're notorious for their medley of good food, live music, and dancing. They have themed events all the time, so you know there's something exciting happening. Tonight is Dia De Los Muertos and they've just installed their new art exhibit. You have no idea how to Swing dance, but that's okay because there is a professional instructor teaches a simple class before the event!

This is just one example of how Vital Art will affect recreation in Redding. Two things need to be made clear: First, recreation--day or night--is just one part of our vision. Our approach to entertainment is unique, but it doesn't stop there. What makes this truly exceptional is the way we intertwine recreation with our other values of culture, wellness, and community.

Second, we are very aware that we are not a cure-all. There are plenty of recreational activities in our community. If someone really wants to have a good time, they will. Our community is broken in many ways, and we simply want to add to the efforts of bringing people together through art. What we offer is diversity, and establishment. The aforementioned mixture of live music, dining, and dancing, is not a new idea by any means. It isn't as much of a rarity in big cities, but we lack access to it here in Redding. We want to build a permanent establishment that is steadily presenting new entertainment like many metropolitan areas, but with an added deep sense of community.

Community
We aspire to foster connection within our community. That sense of belonging resulting from time and energy well spent together, Vital Art is very focused on the importance of individuality as well as our need to belong. Technology has enabled us to connect with people we wouldn't normally connect with, but we believe it is critical to have a strong community in which people can enjoy time together and rely on one another. HERE  is an article highlighting the Digital Distraction to the Detriment of In-Person Relationships.

The best way to bring people together is through art. The enhancement of Arts & Culture in Nor Cal is a viable solution to many issues affecting the quality of life in our community.

As Indian dancer and activist Mallika Sarabhai suggests,
"Art can go through where other things can't. You can't have barriers, because it breaks through your prejudices,
breaks through everything ... We need a language that reaches through."

People connect through art, by providing a holistic experience in which there is something for everyone and a variety of experiences .

Tourism
The Vital Art Center will be in a prime location to promote tourists stopping to easily charge their EV vehicle and hopefully spark interest of our city's culture and continue their exploration of our other notable attractions, like the Sundial Bridge, Turtle Bay, the Cascade Theatre, and hopefully new emerging places will have tourists continue on their trips with a new found appreciation of our rapidly evolving community.

Tourism can play a large part in regards to our local economy. We have hopes that our culture center will gain national attention and put Shasta County on the list of must see destinations for travelers seeking a unique cultural experience, we fully support local partnerships with business owners and crafters.
